MISSOULA – A man who was trapped under his snowmobile was rescued near the town of Seeley Lake on Thursday evening.
Missoula County Undersheriff Rich Maricelli says a 57-year-old male was found in the Marshall Creek area.
Undersheriff Maricelli says the man was riding around the area when he went down a 10-foot embankment.
The man became partially submerged in the creek while he was trapped under his snowmobile.
A person riding with the snowmobiler called 911 and Missoula County Search and Rescue was called to the scene.
Two Bear Air was called and completed the rescue at around 9:30 p.m. by dropping a basket to bring the man to safety.
Undersheriff Maricelli says the man had leg and back injuries but is expected to make a full recovery.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is still underway.
