Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his “I Have a Dream” speech in Washington, DC in August 1963. There is now a memorial in the nation’s capital to honor Dr. King and his fight for equality and justice. The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington, DC opened in 2011.
