BUTTE – This is National Public Health Week and the Butte Health Department is telling us to take a walk.
IN fact, health department employees Wednesday invited citizens to walk with them along Front street as part of an initiative to encourage people to take a break out of their workday to get out and walk for about 15 minutes.
Walking is a simple exercise with many benefits.
“It helps with stress it helps with heart and respiratory disease, it helps with arteries, we do promote a lot of walking classes here at the Butte-Silver Bow Health Department. It prevents chronic disease and that’s what we’re trying to do,” said Theresa Dennehy the Health Educator.
The health department invites the public to walk with them at their front street office each weekday at 10 a.m. in the and 1 p.m.
