Montana man survives house explosion

First responders in Meagher County rescued a man whose house blew up overnight.

The Meagher County Fire/DES (Disaster & Emergency Services) office shared the following information on Facebook:

At 06:21 am this morning, Law, Fire and ambulance service was paged to a Structure Fire/Explosion at 2119 US HWY 89 N., this is in the Forest Green area, just below Kings Hill.

The resident went to sleep last night and woke up in a snow drift this morning. Responders arrived and EMT’s transported the victim to the Mountainview Hospital. Fire crews accessed the fire, found nothing left, the whole house had been destroyed.

There were still fires in the lot the house was located from the little debris that was left. 

The victim was released from the hospital, no serious injuries.

Fire Chief Rick Seidlitz said the State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the explosion.
