Pattern change arrived as expected Sunday and Monday as a colder core pacific Low is passing through the state. Near record highs on Saturday to well below normal temperatures Sunday and Monday with higher mountain snow.
Tonight will be especially chilly for SW Montana as skies clear look for morning lows Tuesday to fall down to near freezing and some of you possibly below freezing. Cover up your flower beds and gardens to protect them from possible frost Tuesday morning.

BOZEMAN: LOW: 36°; HIGH TUESDAY: 68°. A few rain showers are possible for Bozeman this afternoon but look for clearing skies overnight and temperatures falling down into the 30s Tuesday morning. Cover up your flowers and gardens to protect them from possible frost tonight. Temperatures will begin to warm tomorrow afternoon.
BUTTE: LOW: 30°; HIGH TUESDAY: 66°. Scattered rain mixed with a few snowflakes this afternoon for Butte. These showers will be ending around sunset. Clearing skies will allow temperatures to fall below freezing by Tuesday morning and frost is possible for Butte. I recommend you cover flower beds and gardens tonight to protect them from frost.
DILLON: LOW: 30°; HIGH TUESDAY: 70°. Isolated showers are possible Monday afternoon for Dillon and higher mountain snow is likely to continue through early this evening. Clearing skies tonight will allow Tuesday morning lows to fall down to or below freezing so cover those flower beds and gardens to protect them from frost.
WEST YELLOWSTONE: LOW: 26°; HIGH TUESDAY: 63°. A few rain or snow showers are possible for West Yellowstone this afternoon. Skies will be clearing by midnight and look for frosty morning lows Tuesday. Temperatures will begin to warm up a little by Tuesday afternoon.
NEXT WEATHER MAKER:
Weak high pressure to build back over Montana for a couple of days producing warming and drying weather Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday. The next weather maker will show up on Thursday with another cold front and increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms and increasing surface winds. Upper level Low will drop down into Montana from Canada and will keep our weather pattern trending cooler with scattered showers heading into the weekend and early next week. Temperatures should be near to slightly below normal this weekend.
