BUTTE – Butte Central High School’s new principal J.P. Williams is excited to working with students to develop a strong faith-based education. He also wants to work with their parents too.
“To build a strong partnership to help our children succeed at the high school level and behind the high school level at the college or university level, as well as career readiness,” said Williams.
Williams’ mother was from Anaconda and he attended Carroll College and earned his doctorate in education from Montana State.
“This is actually where we would consider home and we’re happy to be back home,” he said.
Williams plans to emphasize technology in the curriculum.
“All of our classrooms are wired for Wi-Fi, also hardline technology for network access, we have smartboards, we have big screen TVs we have a computer lab,” Williams said.
He sees a time when Butte Central’s reach will extend globally.
“And the future vision is we’ll have an online academy through Butte Central that students anywhere in the world can enroll in this academy and participate using the technology that we have available in our classrooms,” Williams said.
Staff at Butte Central say the new principal’s enthusiasm is infectious.
“As you can see he’s got a lot of energy, he’s very passionate, he’s very passionate about kids and that’s a really special thing,” according to Vice Principal Paul Richardson.
