Irish eyes are smiling: Annual An Ri Ra festival starts Friday

Posted

BUTTE   – Butte’s annual Irish festival kicks off Friday.

This is the 16th year for the An Ri Ra Irish festival at the Original Mine Yard. The music starts at 3 p.m. by Butte’s Dublin Gulch and will feature music from performers from around the world as well as plenty of Irish dancing.

“Our local Tiernan Dancers will be highlighted this year, we’ll have a dance group out of Anaconda, one out of Helena, one out of Billings, so it’s kind of unique in that aspect that we’re bringing in dancers from all over the state,” said event organizer Frank Walsh.

The event runs through Sunday and is free to the public.
