PARK COUNTY MONTANA — A hiker who was found dead after an apparent fall near Granite Peak on Thursday was identified by the Park County Sheriff's Office on Monday.
The hiker was identified as 21-year-old Jackson Slimak of Connecticut, according to an update shared by the Park County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.
According to Park County Sheriff Tad Dykstra, an autopsy will be performed, and Park County will conduct the coroner's investigation because of where the man was found.
The sheriff’s office said there was no indication of suspicious activity, adding that Slimak’s death appears to have been accidental. The investigation into his death is now closed.
