BUTTE — Butte health officials have spent Tuesday preparing for the next round of COVID-19 vaccinations that start Wednesday.

Officials from the Butte Health Department, St. James Healthcare and the Southwest Montana Community Health Center are expecting to administer 700 vaccinations to people 80 years and older at the Butte Civic Center Wednesday. Organizers are confident they can handle this large-scale vaccination process.

“I feel good, you know, we have good partners, we have a lot of people here giving us their time. I'm excited; this is great for Butte. We want everyone to get the shot and get back to life, this is great,” said Operations Director Diane Regan.

Those getting vaccinated are asked to arrive five minutes before their scheduled appointment to better control parking.

Health officials will be taking appointments for those 75 and older for next Wednesday's vaccinations at the Civic Center.
