The Gallatin City-County Health Department confirmed Wednesday that another Gallatin County resident has passed away from complications due to COVID-19. The person was a man in his 60s who died in a hospital last week.
The Gallatin City-County Health Department received the official death certificate yesterday that attributed his death to COVID-19 and other significant health conditions. This latest death makes for a total of 19 COVID-related deaths in Gallatin County.
Data on statewide deaths reported by the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services can be found here.
“The Health Department staff sends our condolences to this man’s family and friends,” said Matt Kelley, Gallatin City-County Health Department Health Officer. “We continue to urge everyone in the community to celebrate their holidays safely this season. Keep your gatherings small. Wear face coverings. Wash your hands often. And most importantly, stay home if you’re sick.” Out of respect for the families, no further details will be released.
The Gallatin City-County Health Department will be closed on Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving Day) and Nov. 27 in order to give staff some much needed and deserved time off. This closure will include the COVID-19 Call Center. And the COVID-19 data dashboard on the Health Department’s website will also not be updated during this time.
If you have COVID-19 related questions during that time, please visit the county's website for more information.
