Local health officials have announced that face coverings will now be required in Granite County as the number of COVID-19 cases have increased.

Five additional COVID-19 cases were reported on Wednesday in Granite County bringing the number of active cases to seven.

Gov. Steve Bullock issued a directive on July 15 stating that counties with four or more active cases are to require masks in public.

However, the Granite County Board of Health has voted to require masks regardless of the number of active cases.

Also on Wednesday, Carbon County health officials announced a face mask mandate.
