Missoula County reports 78 additional COVID-19 cases

MISSOULA — The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) reports that 78 additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed since the Tuesday update.

The number of active cases ticked up from 719 on Tuesday to 726. The total number of cases has now risen to 5,320 including 4,549 recoveries and 45 COVID-19 related deaths.

There are currently 39 active hospitalizations due to COVID-19 up from the 34 reported on Tuesday. Fourteen Missoula County residents are hospitalized for COVID-19.

The average of daily new cases per 100,000 has risen from 65 reported on Tuesday to 78. The MCCHD goal is to bring that number down to 25/100,000 people for two consecutive weeks or more.

It was announced on Dec. 7 that Community Medical Center and Providence Saint Patrick in Missoula will be among the first health care centers to get the COVID-19 vaccine -- possibly as early as Dec. 15.

MCCHD announced on Dec. 4 that the drive-thru COVID-19 testing center located on Flynn Lane will now be accepting weekend appointments.

The Missoula City-County Board of Health updated the local COVID-19 restrictions on Nov. 19.

Missoula County residents can call 406-258-INFO weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to discuss COVID-19 information.
