Robert Fasuga of Helena has been charged after a high-speed chase on Sunday.

Fasuga, 37 years old, appeared via video in Lewis & Clark Justice Court on Monday. He is facing seven charges, including felony assault on a peace officer and felony criminal endangerment.

Just before 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Lewis & Clark Sheriff’s deputies located Fasuga, who had several outstanding warrants, at the 5900 block of Del Ray Road.

According to court documents, deputies asked him to get out of his vehicle, and Fasuga then revved the engine and lunged the vehicle forward at the officers twice.

He then led deputies and Montana Highway Patrol troopers on a high-speed chase through town that ended at Helena Campground and R.V. Park.

Sheriff Leo Dutton told MTN that Fasuga then got out of his vehicle and ran to a nearby trailer house and pointed a gun at himself, threatening suicide.

After negotiations with deputies, Fasuga was apprehended peacefully.

He is scheduled to enter a plea in District Court on July 16.
