Jury selection got underway Monday morning in Yellowstone County District Court surrounding the murder of a Billings woman whose boyfriend is accused of her death.

Prosecutors expect to hear from witnesses all week.

Gregory Green, 53, was arrested last April in Henderson Nevada and brought back to Montana to face charges.

Laura Johnson, 47, went missing in September of 2018 and police have yet to recover her body.

Green is charged with deliberate homicide in relation to Johnson's death.

According to charging documents, Johnson moved to Billings with Green a couple of months prior to her disappearance. Her family has said she moved to be with her boyfriend, Green.

In multiple interviews with detectives, Green said Johnson had taken her belongings out of their home and left him. He told investigators he thought she may have moved back to Oregon with her family.

As the week long trial gets underway, those with the prosecutors office plan to hear witness testimony from Billings police officers, a forensics expert, family of Johnson and those who worked with her.

Prosecutors say they have surveillance video and photographs that point to Green.

The defense plans to call a blood spatter expert and an addiction specialist and plan to put into question a cell phone ping.

It remains unclear if Green himself will take the stand.
