BUTTE — The early bird gets the best seat for the state championship football game Butte.

These fans were waiting in line almost 12 hours before kickoff of the Butte High - Bozeman game at Naranche Stadium.

“We’re just going to take it in shifts and families just going to trade off. We’re here. I’m not leaving,” said Bulldog fan Stacie Bauer.

These fans arrived early to guarantee getting a good seat at a game that’s expected to draw a crowd of up to 8,000.

“Oh, it’s been unforgettable, just all these wins, these boys are the best. They’ve got big hearts and we’re all here to rally and support them,” Bauer said.

When the Bulldogs won the state championship in back in 2012, that was a really big deal for the Mining City, but there’s a kind of electricity in the air about this year’s state championship.

“It’s more than a game now, it’s become an event, I mean, this is huge. In 2012 when this happened, everybody got here at like 5, not 7 o’clock in the morning. It’s crazy,” said Bulldog fan Dave Dunmire.
