Republican and Democratic committees in Cascade County are working to promote their respective candidates ahead of the November election.

At 11 a.m. on Saturday, Democratic candidates for several state House districts will be meeting at the Labor Temple in Great Falls. The Labor Temple is at 1108 7th Street South; masks will be available for anyone who wants to attend.

"We thought that if we have it out in the parking lot here at the Labor Temple, we could social distance by six, seven, eight feet apart,” Cascade County Democratic Central Committee Chairman Carl Donovan said.

"I don't want to be over-dramatic, but this is the most important election time of our entire history,” committee board member Elaine Schoyen said.

We tried to get in touch Republican committee on Friday, but have not yet received a response.

A representative from the state Republican Party said an event is planned for the first weekend in October, but details are still being finalized.
