FRENCHTOWN -- Over the past few days we've seen a number of schools across western Montana make the decision to remain online for the remainder of the year. With that decision, many seniors are missing out on their final memories in high school.

However, some Frenchtown teachers have been showing their appreciation for the seniors and entire school every night.

After seeing schools around the nation doing it, Frenchtown school district decided to do their own "Honk for Frenchtown" each night.

Every night at 8:20 p.m., Frenchtown teachers line the road along the high school with signs showing they miss and appreciate all of their students.

The students and other community members honk back to show their love in return.

"We just miss having our kids. It's just our way of telling the kids that we are thinking about them and we're trying to practice good social distancing," said Frenchtown teacher Dennis Norman. "The teachers miss the kids, we've had to miss our spring sports that's why the lights are on. I'm one of the head track coaches and I wish we could've had our season but it's just a small way of saying hey we miss you guys and we'll hope to be back next fall."
