UPDATE: 12/7/18 – 8:40 a.m – Sheriff Ed Lester released the following statement: “The three youths who fled from the Acadia facility have been located and taken into custody in Butte. Thank you for your assistance.”
BUTTE, Mont. – Butte police officers responded to the Acadia facility in Butte on Thursday evening after a report of a disturbance and that three juveniles had fled the facility by climbing over the fence on the perimeter of the property.
The incident was reported at approximately 6:19 p.m. The facility is located at 55 Basin Creek Road in Butte.
Officers tracked the three juveniles north from the facility and lost the tracks in the area of the Northwestern Energy facility on Harrison Avenue.
Officers continue to search the area and additional staff from the Acadia facility have been called out to assist in the search.
Descriptions of the suspects are as follows:
- 16-year-old Native American female with dark hair, 5’2”, 123 lbs. Last seen wearing a blue and black hoodie and black leggings. The suspect also had no shoes and was wearing hospital type booties on her feet.
- 15-year-old white male. The male is 5’11” tall and weighs 175 pounds. Last seen wearing a blue hoodie with black pants.
- 16-year-old male. The male is 5’8” tall and weighs 136 pounds. He was last seen wearing red sweatpants and a gray hoodie.
Anyone who has information or contact with the three suspects is asked to call the Butte Police Department at 497-1120 or dial 911.
According to the organization’s website, “Acadia Montana is a 108-bed Residential Treatment Center for young people ages 5-18, in need of assistance with co-occurring behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric disorders. Acadia Montana has individual Children’s and Adolescent’s Programs, and separate co-ed and boy’s unit residences.”
