Last week the 92nd National FFA Convention and Expo took over Indianapolis.

On Saturday, the Belgrade FFA team returned home to a crowd of proud parents and family members.

The team attended the giant convention to celebrate their accomplishments and attend agricultural education workshops.

Earlier this year, Belgrade FFA qualified in horse judging and agronomy.

The team took sixth place in agronomy at the national convention.

Members of the team say placing nationally was truly a humbling experience.

“It was a tremendous honor to be able to represent Montana and be able to compete on such a national level,” said Kaydee Anne Teselle, a student on Belgrade’s FFA team.

“It's awesome being a senior. It's just a great way to start off my senior year,” said Taylor McCormack.

Kiley Smieja was greeted at the airport by her mother and siblings.

“It's definitely a once in a lifetime experience that I will never ever forget,” she said.

The Belgrade FFA team also thanked their high school FFA advisor, Kyle Gavin.

“We also owe a huge part of our success to our advisor Mr. Gavin and our coach. He spent countless hours working with us and training us,” said Teselle. “Honestly, without him, we wouldn't have made it to nationals. He's done a tremendous job with Belgrade FAA.”

Eight students from Belgrade attended the convention in Indianapolis last week.

The National FFA Convention and expo is held once a year in the fall.
