As many people know, the holidays are typically a busy time for airports as people travel to spend time with family.

Airport administration says they’re prepared for the rush. But numbers still aren’t what they’d normally see during this time of year.

MTN News caught up with some passengers to see how their flying experience went.

"Great, I mean they were clean. I mean, they were out cleaning and everybody had their masks on. But it was busy — packed. Like, both airports, both times of day. Mid day in Denver and then this early morning in Chicago ," said passenger Sarah Jambor. "I expected it to be a lot quieter. But i guess people are trusting the cleaning process and that they’re safe and making the right decision for their family."

“It was good. Wasn’t a super crowded flight. Everyone’s wearing their masks and social distancing so everything seems pretty safe, generally speaking,” said passenger Kevin Hohe.

“It was great. I thought everyone was really, you know. I think the new precautions have made it kind of easier,” Fiona Story.

Airport Director Brian Sprenger says the airport is busier this week. But Thanksgiving typically brings more roadway traffic versus air travel. He says Christmas is usually the big one.
