BUTTE — Coronavirus may be keeping children from their classrooms, but this week Butte Central will bring the classroom to the students – online.
“With the very difficult situation that we’re in in our country and our community, we’re going to continue a real solid learning program with our students,” said Butte Central Catholic Schools President Don Peoples.
The approximately 400 students in Butte’s Catholic school system will be learning from home as all K through 12 classes will be taught over the internet.
“We’re using Google Classroom, we’re using Zoom, which is a face-to-face interactive ability for teachers to actually talk to their students and the whole class at a time,” said Peoples.
While the learning will be the same the classroom will be online, and the school says their prepared to keep this going as long as necessary.
“You know, we’re prepared to go the rest of the year if we have to, but we’re just taking on a day-by-day, week-by-week approach at this point,” said Peoples.
The Butte School District are getting packets out to its students in the public schools this week so they too can do assignments during the time off.
