BUTTE — Butte police are looking into a report from a pair of children who claim they escaped from an abduction attempt.
A 10-year-old girl reported an unknown man approached 7-year-old boy while they were riding their bikes in the 600 block of west galena about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The girl claims she punched the man and the children fled home on the bikes.
“The male suspect is described as being tall with short dark hair, was wearing a red shirt and black tennis shoes, so it's a little bit vague on the description but if anyone was in that area or has seen a brown, older pickup with some kind of horns on the front grill or hood, if they could call us and provide that information that would be great,” said Butte Sheriff Ed Lester.
