BUTTE — A 26-year-old Butte man is hospitalized Thursday evening after being shot multiple times, and a 21-year-old man is in custody in connection with the shooting.
Butte police report the shooting occurred just before 5:30 p.m. at the skate park at McGruff Park off of Shields Avenue, where the suspect shot the victim several times before leaving the scene in a pickup truck.
Police found the suspect driving on Arizona street and a pursuit ensued before the shooter crashed his truck near Second Street and ran from police. He was captured in a yard in the 1000 block of Wyoming Street.
The victim is being treated at St. James Healthcare. The condition of the victim has not been released.
