BUTTE - A military chaplain in Butte received a national award for his service to the community.
Chaplain David Knight of Butte's Civil Air Patrol was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the Military Chaplains Association for his service and volunteer work.
“I didn't seek this out. i didn't even know this existed, so it shows if you do the best job you can do, you know, and show excellence in all you do people will notice and you might get awarded for it,” said Knight
Knight received the award at the Military Chaplains Association National Institute meeting in Columbia, South Carolina.
