BUTTE - The Department of Environmental Quality investigated a large diesel spill in Butte last week.
More than 700 gallons of diesel spilled as the fuel was being transferred into underground storage tanks at Town Pump's bulk facility near Dewey Boulevard and Rowe Road Christmas Eve morning.
The DEQ reports much of the spill has been contained and no reports of it getting into Butte's ground water.
