BUTTE — Kathy Aragon from Bike Walk Montana joined Chet Wednesday morning to visit about an event this summer in the Butte area.

It’s called the Divide Scramble and it gives people three options to experience mountain bike trails around Butte. The rides are 33 miles, 57 miles or 68 miles.

The shorter two are out and back rides on dirt roads while the longer ride is some single track along the Continental Divide Trail. That ride is suggested for more experienced riders while the shorter two can be managed by people on mountain bikes or gravel style bikes.

Aragon says this is a great way for just about anyone to get a chance to experience a section of the Great Divide Mountain bike trail, during a fully supported ride. She notes and participants should be able to change a tire, but snacks and beverages will be available along the route - and a Sag Van will be out there in case riders need more help.

The Divide Scramble is July 17th from 7 am-6 pm and registration is open now but is limited to the first 250 riders total for all three rides.

Anyone interested can go to ridethedividemontana.com for more information or sign up.

All three rides start and end near the M on Big Butte.
