BUTTE - Butte’s Council of Commissioners on Wednesday filled a seat left vacant by a commissioner who stepped down recently.

The commission approved the appointment of Herold Gerbrandt to the District 10commissioner's seat. The seat was vacated by Bill Anderson in December after he had to leave it due to moving out of the district he represented.

Gerbrandt was selected over five other candidates who applied for the seat. He will serve out the rest of Anderson’s term, which ends in November.
