West Elementary School students are helping to keep Great Falls warm this winter.

Students in the fifth and sixth grade wrapped trees on Friday at Gibson Park with hats, gloves, scarves and headbands available for people in need.

The student leadership team says they did this to help the Great Falls homeless population and people in need, get the essentials for when temperatures drop.

Students raised $400 for the project using a “duct tape fundraiser,” where they purchased one piece of duct tape for a dollar and taped West Elementary School principal Lyndsey Stulc to a wall.

Teachers involved in the leadership team are Brittney Lampert, Stacie Clayton, and Kristin Dehaan.
