Town Pump officials are eager to open a new store in Uptown Butte, the first in 35 years.
“Oh, I’m excited, I mean, they’ve got my candy bars out, I mean, you know, I’m ready to go,” said Town Pump representative Bill McGladdery.
Sweet tooth fix aside, the more than 10,000 square foot store will replace the much smaller one that’s been at the Montana and Platinum location since 1985.
“A lot more retail space, a lot more cooler doors availability to stock more beers and wines and sodas,” said McGladdery.
A week after the store is open, the old location will be demolished, and they will expand the fuel pump islands to 14 fueling stations.
“We will keep the existing fuel islands open while the new ones are being built, so we will always have fuel availability at this location,” said McGladdery.
Town Pump, which started in Butte in 1953, wanted to reinvest in Uptown Butte by putting in a new, larger store.
“The existing store was always a strong performer, we have a very loyal customer base at this location, if hadn’t been the support of this community in the early years, we wouldn’t be doing this expansion today,” said McGladdery.
The existing store will close at about 6 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 9th, and the new one will open at noon that day.
