Park County Health Department officials say there are three active cases of COVID-19. There are also two more possible positive cases that were identified from recent surveillance testing in Gardiner and Livingston June 19-20.
All other results from that testing event returned negative Tuesday morning.

The three active cases developed symptoms of COVID-19, immediately isolated themselves, tested positive and are recovering at home. Their close contacts have been notified by the Health Department and additional testing is in progress.
The other two individuals that have tested positive were a part of the recent surveillance testing in Gardiner and Livingston. Both of these individuals are being retested to confirm the accuracy of the test because they have remained well and have no other risk factors for COVID-19.
The Park County Health Department has tested more than 1,000 people for COVID-19 in the past 10 days. The primary focus has been individuals with no symptoms. This helps us understand if the virus is circulating in Park County without our knowledge.
It has taken much longer than we expected to get test results from the Montana State Health Lab. They are operating nearly 24 hours a day, and processing more than 10,000 tests weekly.
Cases remain low in Park County but are rising. COVID-19 is here. It takes all of us to contain the spread of the virus. Wash your hands, wear a mask, watch your distance. Please avoid groups this holiday weekend.
