Greater Impact in Bozeman opened the Lindsey House earlier this summer, allowing women to rent a bed in a home that promotes sober living. And the organization says they need the community's help to support the house's growing demand.

“It is our heart to bring good, Christ-centered recovery programs into the Gallatin Valley,” said John Paszkiet, Director, Greater Impact.

Last summer Bozeman’s only recovery home for women closed its door, creating a major need in the community.

“So there was just no resources for women in recovery. A lot of people were wanting to help. A lot of people were wanting to help, but then after a few months, it just kinda went away,” said Linda Walker, Recovery Director, Greater Impact.

So Greater Impact stepped up to the task and opened a new sober living home in Bozeman in July.

“We do have women coming out of treatment, coming out of prisons and institutions so we definitely want to provide that safe space for them,” said Walker.

And so far, they’re already seeing some success already.

“We’re seeing people hit the markers of 40 days clean and sober in the house and some people who have been sober for a year and are just looking for another kick,” said Paszkiet.

Currently, there are 8 women living in the Lindsay home, renting a bed for the duration of the program. Greater Impact says there's a waitlist, meaning one day they’d like to expand.

And that requires help from the community.

“The Lindsay House is definitely a place where women are finding hope. We’ve had women come to us in situations where people who’ve tried to help them in the past said there’s absolutely nothing you can do for this woman,” said Paszkiet.

“And we’re seeing these women thriving.”
