Thursday marked World Day Against Human Trafficking and The Lifeguard Group in Missoula announced it's launching a hotline for victims.

It will serve around 6,000 people in Montana, of an estimated 2 million in the U.S. who are exploited annually.

The Lifeguard Group is working with task forces and law enforcement agencies across the state to bring this service to victims.

The hotline will also help in the mission to collect human trafficking data.

"Trafficking is happening in Montana. Trafficking is happening here in Missoula. Trafficking is happening all over," explained The Lifeguard Group's Jamie Rindal. "The national hotline is great, but it is not located in the Western part of the United States, and the turn around time is not adequate."

The group is asking people to volunteer to answer phones for the hotline which is set to launch in November. Click here if you would like to help out.
