MISSOULA – Jack Eldon Jarvey of Missoula has been charged with sexually abusing and exploiting two young children.

Jack Eldon Jarvey

Jarvey 64 years old, is charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent, three counts of sexual abuse of children, and one count of intimidation.

According to court documents, a Missoula police detective was notified in March 2016 of a juvenile female who reported to hospital staff that when she was younger she and her brother had been sexually abused by Jarvey.

The detective contacted the children’s mother, who said neither the girl or boy were willing to talk to law enforcement about the abuse.

In February 2018, the woman contacted Missoula police saying that her daughter was willing to speak to law enforcement about the alleged sexual abuse.

Both children told authorities and First Step that they would go to Jarvey’s home on the weekends.

The boy told authorities he was 8 to 9 years old and his sister was 6 to 7 years old when they started going to Jarvey’s home.

Both children reported that, in addition to the abuse, Jarvey would also make them watch pornography.

The relationship between the children, the mother, and the defendant is not yet clear.

Jarvey is being held in the Missoula County Detention Center.

If convicted he faces up to 100 years in the Montana State Prison.
