LEWISTOWN – Two teenagers died in a two-vehicle crash near Lewistown on Monday afternoon.
The crash happened along US Highway 87 near Cottonwood Creek Road, several miles west of Lewistown.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a pickup truck pulling a horse trailer driven by a 60-year old man from Hobson was eastbound on Highway 87 at around 4 p.m.
The MHP says a Toyota Prius with two teen boys and two teen girls was heading west and turned onto Cottonwood Creek Road in front of the pickup, and crashed into the sedan.
The two girls died; the two boys were injured. The severity of their injuries has not been disclosed.
The MHP says that none of the people involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts, and that alcohol/drugs and speed were not factors in the crash.
One of the victims died at the scene; three were taken to Benefis Health System in great falls.
The names of the victims have not yet been released, and there is no word on the condition of the injured people
