A motorcyclist is dead after a fatal crash Monday afternoon on Norris Hill.

Montana Highway Patrol was called to the scene just before 3 p.m. Monday.

Two people were traveling on the motorcycle near mile marker 59 on Highway 287 when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and rolled into a ditch.

Both of the occupants were thrown off of the motorcycle. The driver died at the scene. The passenger was transported to Madison Valley Medical Center with serious but stable injuries.

Both the driver and passenger were wearing helmets. Alcohol is being considered as a factor in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
