Deputy’s vehicle struck while responding to crash in Lewis and Clark County

A Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputy’s vehicle was struck while he was on the scene of a semi tractor/trailer crash in the Sieben Flats area.

Sheriff Leo Dutton said the deputy was not inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, but he was almost struck. He was not injured.

Sheriff Dutton said the occupants of the other vehicle were being transported to St. Peter’s Health.

The Sheriff’s Office has issued a severe driving conditions notice for the Helena Valley and Sieben Flats area.

The area is from Interstate 15 mile marker 190 through the Wolf Creek Canyon at mile marker 230.

Blowing snow and icy conditions have been reported.  People are urged to use caution while driving.
