A man walking along Stagecoach Trail Road near Manhattan Saturday night was struck and killed by a passing vehicle, according to Montana Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded to the incident around 7:25 p.m. Saturday. MHP said the 76-year-old Manhattan man was walking eastbound toward the edge of the road when he was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet Impala traveling westbound.
The man was thrown over the car towards the north side of the ditch. The 35-year-old driver and 23-year-old passenger, both of Bozeman, were uninjured. The man died at the scene.
MHP said alcohol, drugs, and speed are suspected.
