The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and RE Magazine have named Ravalli Electric Co-op winner of the June 2020 ‘Wild Animals’ Photo Challenge.

According to a press release, Ravalli Electric Co-op [ravallielectric.com] lineman Todd Irwin captured the winning image of three raccoons hugging a power pole and waiting patiently to be rescued after a caller reported a dog had been chasing them. The critters eventually ran down the pole and safely made it back to ground.

REC’s winning entry was among 1,300 photo submissions.

RE Magazine’s Photo Challenge [cooperative.com] is a monthly competition among the nation’s 900 electric cooperatives, including 30 in Montana.
