Montana is an outdoor-oriented state and Montana Western in Dillon has two new minors in its business program geared towards the outdoors. Associate Professor of Business Kurt Steadman talked LIVE with Montana This Morning’s Chet Layman about these two new offerings.

One is called Outdoor Guide and Wildlife Outfitter Enterprise Management. Classes in this minor include, Survey of MT Wildlife and Habitats, Conservation Biology, Natural History of Aquatic Vertebrates, Animal Behavior, Safety and Handling, Sustaining Water Resources, Natural Resource Conflict Resolution, Sustainable Resource Management, Wildlife or Fisheries Ecology. This minor is geared toward guides and outfitters.

The second minor is called Farm and Ranch Operations. This minor includes classes in Ag Commodity Marketing, Ag Plant Science, Soil & Water Management, Animal Science, Livestock Reproduction and Nutrition and is geared towards Farm and Ranch owners.

Steadman says Montana Western was only granted permission to offer these programs about 6 months ago.
