Science labs need test tubes and other tools made of glass, but who makes those tools?
It turns out some of them are made in a classroom in Dillon on the Montana Western Campus. Associate Professor of Visual Arts, Ruth King talked LIVE with Montana This Morning’s Chet Layman about the scientific glass making class at Montana Western.
She says it is the only program in the west, and one of only two in the country. King says only because of Western’s Experience One curriculum plan can this class be taught. She likened glass making to learning another language. She also says Montana Western is working towards making the scientific glass making program a degreed program, because the need for quality glass tools in the scientific world is great right now.
