A few showers this weekend

Posted

BOZEMAN – The weekend weather pattern is fair but by no means is it perfect. First, a cold front will sweep across the state Friday evening into Saturday morning. This will produce a few showers, some minor mountain snow and localized gusty winds.

Behind this front, temperatures will drop a good 10 degrees with highs mostly in the 40s Saturday. A NW flow will continue to push some showers through the state Saturday evening into Sunday and increase surface winds in wind prone regions.

The National Weather Service has a HIGH WIND WATCH up from Saturday evening to Monday morning in favored chinook belts along the Rocky mountain front and upper Yellowstone regions.

Sustained winds 30 to 40 mph are likely with gusts to or over 60 mph. This watch will likely be upgraded to either a wind advisory or a high wind warning in the next 24 hours. Check the STORMTracker weather mobile app for updates.

Next week a pattern change will arrive Tuesday with increasing rain changing to snow and colder air arriving Wednesday morning. Your Wednesday morning and possibly Wednesday evening commute will be impacted by this weather event. Plan on longer commute times.
