BOZEMAN – Weather pattern to change again from a hot and dry back to cool and wet by Tuesday morning.

Temperatures hit the mid-90s again across most of Eastern Montana Monday afternoon vs. the mid 50s over Spokane, WA. The extreme heat to our east will remain to our east but the cooler weather building over the pacific NW will start to dig into SW Montana tonight.

A deep trough of Low-pressure will slowly move eastward and will keep our overall weather pattern running cooler through the weekend. Passing through the trough will be several pacific storm systems and some will be weak while others could be a little stronger.

First wave of showers and isolated thunderstorms will build over SW Montana beginning Tuesday morning. A brief break between systems on Wednesday with several systems passing through Wednesday evening through Saturday morning.

Snow levels could drop down to 7,000’ – 8,000’ by Wednesday evening. So, look for a little higher elevation snow later this week.

NEXT PATTERN CHANGE

The Climate Prediction Center 8 to 14 day outlook September 23rd to the 29th shows another pattern change is possible next week or the last week of September.

Near to above normal temperatures and near to below normal precipitation. A little Indian summer is possible next week.
