BOZEMAN – A weather pattern change arrives overnight with a Pacific cold front to pass through Montana Thursday.

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible for areas west of the divide Thursday morning along with gusty winds. This front will slowly work eastward Thursday and should reach the MT/ND state line by Thursday evening. A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible for SE counties Thursday afternoon and evening.

Along and right behind the front look for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Stronger thunderstorms are possible east of Bozeman Thursday afternoon and early evening with the greatest impacts around Billings and Miles City.

Storms will be ending Thursday evening and in the wake of this cold front will come a cooler NW flow aloft. Temperatures will fall 10 to 20 degrees from Wednesday into Thursday. In fact, temperatures will likely stay cooler than normal this weekend with another shot of cool air arriving next week.
