Friday Morning Forecast: Wintery weekend ahead

Today's Forecast:
Expect chilly temperatures and plenty of wind for your Friday. There are a few isolated chances of showers for the morning but will clear through the evening. Highs will hover in the upper 40s and low 50s though the wind will be gusting between 20-30 mph across the region. Keep those jackets and coats close at hand as we will see snow developing across the area on Saturday afternoon and evening.

BOZEMAN: High: 50; Low: 31. Isolated showers are possible early in the morning with gusty wind for the afternoon and evening as skies clear.

BUTTE: High: 46; Low: 26. Spotty morning showers will clear by the afternoon. Expect gusty winds for the afternoon and evening.

DILLON: High: 47; Low: 28. Mainly dry for the day with chilly temperatures and gusty wind.

WEST YELLOWSTONE: High: 40; Low: 19. Cool with spotty rain showers mixing with snow through the late afternoon and evening.

WINTER STORM WATCH IN SOUTHWEST MONTANA:
A Winter Storm Watch was issue for southern Gallatin and southern Madison counties from 3 PM Saturday through 9 AM Sunday above 5000 feet. Those high elevation areas are expected to see between 6-10 inches of fresh snow. Valleys will see minor accumulations with 1”-3” of snow possible.

Slippery roads and low visibility will be the biggest issues in high elevation areas like Big Sky. Hunters should pay caution to the weather conditions and be prepared for cold and snowy conditions with a raw wind gusting in excess of 40 mph at times.
