BOZEMAN – Blocking High-pressure is fading over Montana and a new Pacific storm will roll in from the West tonight into Thursday producing cool and wet weather.

This next weather maker is your typical Spring-like storm, it will bring valley rain and higher mountain snow showers to SW Montana and there is a slight chance for a rumble of thunder Thursday afternoon.

Snow levels will be high with this storm. Snow accumulations are likely above 7,000’ tonight into Thursday. Most mountain passes will see a rain/snow mix with a slight chance for minor accumulations in the early morning hours.

Total rainfall should be around a quarter of an inch for most areas, but some will be under a tenth of an inch. This will be much needed moisture since we are running below normal for month to date precipitation.

6 to 10 day outlook through the first couple of days of May looks warm and dry across the western half of the country.
