BUTTE — The head of Butte’s Parks and Recreation Department announced his candidacy for Butte Chief Executive Thursday morning.
J.P. Gallagher, who has been director of the Parks and Recreation Department for the past five years, will officially announce his candidacy Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. at Stodden Park.
Gallagher will be challenging incumbent Dave Palmer and Butte Commissioner Brendan McDonough. The period to file for office ends March 9th.
